The Internet. An invention of the 20th century that has moved from being a simple mode of communication to changing just about every aspect of human life, from social sharing and interaction to professional communication and project management. As we keep moving forward there are exciting new technologies that promise to further revolutionise the way we function. Let’s take a look at a few of them:
The Grid – www.thegrid.io The next step in the evolution of AI (Artificial Intelligence) is here! The Grid is a web development solution that uses AI to completely build a website from scratch. All that the user needs to input, is content (text, images, videos etc) and the AI will do the rest. Everything, from the site layout to the colour of the text, will be determined by the AI. A complete web development solution that is at your beck and call 24/7.
The Internet of everything – Imagine a world where every device you own and all services that you need are remotely accessible and available at your beck and call at all times, no matter where you are. Your refrigerator, your air conditioner, your television. You could be on your way home and turn on the AC so your bedroom is cool before you get there. You could have your refrigerator present your favourite food at the front of the shelf so you don’t have to look for it. You could even set your kettle to boil a nice cup of tea for you by the time you walk in. These are just a few of the examples of how the internet of everything can make life easier.
Virtual Worlds – As Virtual Reality technology develops we will be able to create entire virtual worlds where people could interact, free from the bonds of physical distance. It will be the next step in Social Networking.
Internet Navigation – We already have GPS navigation Apps. Tools that help you find your way across town are quite common. Even so it is you who has to do the driving to your destination. The future promises self driven cars that can get you to any destination, all by themselves. All you have to do is enter the name of your destination. The car’s system will look up the address on the internet, chart a route and get moving. When implemented this system will help in greatly reducing car accidents and helping the physically challenged to commute better. Google has been working on the self driven car and has a working prototype already in place.
