Nimble is a designer and retailer of activewear that inspires movement, puts the planet first and makes you want to live your happiest, healthiest life. The brand encourages women to celebrate their individuality, acknowledge differences and establish self-acceptance. Following success in physical stores in their native Australia, Built By Blank helped translate their brand
values into an experiential online store.
The Challenge
Nimble had already achieved success and traction in a couple of retail locations and wanted to translate their message of empowerment and making conscious choices into an online experience for a global audience.
The Solution
The Built By Blank team created a simple but bold look for the site, using different dimensions and sizes in the imagery. A simple but powerful visualization of Nimble’s brand values is brought out by creating a dynamically moving section on the homepage that says “I move to feel ________” with rotating motivational words like radiant, invincible, joyful, energized. We used push notifications to communicate and constantly motivate their customers and UGC to showcase the outcomes of how customers feel about the product.
Selecting a Platform
Built By Blank had to chose between two eCommerce platforms- Magento Vs Shopify. So, we compared the two and Shopify came out as the clear winner because of its hosting capabilities. Shopify actually includes hosting costs within the monthly Shopify plan with no extra cost. We chose the Shopify Plan with transaction fees of 1% to build this website.

Push Notification
The Built By Blank team implemented the option for customers to sign up for push notifications so we could get levels of engagement even higher than strategies like email marketing.
UGC on Product Detail Page
We integrated User Generated content from their social channels on the Product Detail page to give a “real person” feel to the product, in addition to the professionally-shot photography.
Chat Feature
Live chat is the easiest way to deal with customer support requests for eCommerce. Chats are a quick way to communicate, faster than emails but easier to track and manage than phone calls. We equipped the Nimble eCommerce site with Chat support functionality for their team to handle technical customer queries quickly and get immediate conversions.
Stockists Functionality
All Nimble’s Stockists are easily accessible on the site if customers prefer buying offline at a location nearest to them.
Stockists Sign Up Form
The Blank team set up an easy to fill Sign-up form for stockists interested in selling and marketing Nimble’s products, making it easier for the company to get inbounds leads, whet out stockists and grow their sales distribution network.
Order Returns Functionality
We wanted to create an experience of the best customer service. If a customer receives a product they don’t like, they can ask for a return on the site. We implemented a very easy to use returns feature which is visible on the site header. The system makes it easy to receive and process return requests. The Nimble team processes return requests within a few hours of receiving them. Stress-free returns made it easier for them to convert new customers and create brand loyalty.
Interactive Find Your Fit section
Fit is a key factor for a purchase decision in an activewear product. We built an interactive pop-up on each Product Category page for finding the right fit. The same pop-up section is featured above the fold on the product detail page, giving customers a couple of different touchpoints in the UX to access this information.
Price Comparison Functionality
We equipped the checkout section with a price comparison functionality. This allows users to compare old prices for a product with new discounted prices, giving them a transparent view in keeping with the ethos of the brand.
AfterPay Integration
We integrated AfterPay into the checkout process. The ability to spread out payments allowed customers to purchase higher priced items and get immediate gratification.
Reviews Functionality
All the products listed are coupled with reviews and recommendations from customers who have previously purchased. Peer reviews like these go a long way in establishing credibility and convincing any new customer of the quality of the product.
The reviews outputs are displayed in a visually appealing manner on the product detail page and consolidated results for important factors like Fit and Comfort are showcased to give customers a quicker overview of other customer feedback.
Back in Stock Notification
Customers can sign up and receive email notifications when their favorite product is back in stock. We enabled email notifications for new collections & discounts, helping drive up sales.
Product Thumbnail Videos
The product detail pages feature product photos and product thumbnail videos along with integration to Instagram photos and videos. Seeing the product ‘in action’ is an essential part of the brand experience that helps sell the product.
Custom fields
We incorporated custom fields in the Shopify back-end to allow the Nimble team to easily add custom details on each individual product page like Fabric and Features. These details are essential to a technically developed activewear product and must be visible to allow users to make an informed choice. Making them easily editable made it efficient for the Nimble team to
showcase each SKU in the best manner possible.
Integration to Facebook Messenger
To provide customers access to different touchpoints of contact to the brand we integrated Facebook messenger with the website, keeping the clients updated on the latest offers and trends.
Integration to Insta Shop
We set up an integration to Nimble’s Instagram shop, boosting sales through their social shopping channel where customer engagement is at its highest.
Mini Cart functionality
Mini Carts have become as essential feature in eCommerce sites that allows users to quickly view their picks without going through the hassle of going to the cart page and interrupting their browsing for more products. We incorporated a Mini Cart functionality on the Shopify website to let shoppers place their top picks in their carts, allowing them to view their favorite products anytime later.
The implementation of this experiential website helped boost Nimble’s brand awareness and popularity. Nimble products are now shipped all over the world with this easy to navigate website.
