About
Mimi Plange is an American sportswear label infused with art and dark romance. It is a cultural melting pot of design and inspiration founded by Paris-born Senegalese entrepreneur, Ibrahim Ndoye and Ghanaian-born American designer, Mimi Plange.
The Challenge
When the brand approached us, they had a basic themed Shopify site which did not showcase the designer or her label’s unconventional aesthetic. Additionally, the brand was not optimized for SEO.
The Solution
Our Built By Blank team designed a customized Shopify experience for Mimi Plange. We utilized generously-sized photo containers, large text, and striking but balanced color elements to create a bold website that captures the aesthetic of the fashion designer.
Selecting a Platform
Mimi Plange was already on Shopify. She chose to stay with the company, as she was satisfied with the platform itself.
Search Engine Optimization
First, the team did in-depth competitive keyword research to optimize SEO, implementing meta tags and open graph tags for Facebook and other social media platforms. Title tags were created based on the targeted keyword list, and the team wrote SEO-optimized copy that would capture Mimi Plange’s branding. This web content structure was optimized for keywords, optimization as per Google’s guidelines.

We used Shogun to showcase projects so they are easily customized by the end-user to keep the looks on the site fresh. Social Media connects Built by Blank integrated social platforms on the website home page to share new posts and UGC.
Archiving of Projects Feature
In order to showcase featured projects and collaborations, we developed a custom ability for Mimi Plange to archive finished projects and add new ones.
