Ten Past Monkey is a Los Angeles-based kid’s apparel company specializing in a curated wardrobe of unique, world-wide styles. Ten Past Monkey hired Built by Blank to design and develop their unique e-commerce platform on Shopify

Selecting a Platform:

We selected Shopify for Ten Past Monkey after understanding their business needs, which involved laying out hundreds of products across the board without making the UX messy and difficult to navigate. With its wide range of themes and flexibility, Shopify was the best choice.

Key Features:

Shop the Look

One of the key features on Ten Past Monkey was giving users the ability to shop editorial content. We used Shogun Page Builder along with custom code to display products associated with an editorial post.

Gift Cards

Ten Past Monkey introduced an e-gift card for users who were having trouble choosing the perfect gift for someone, giving them the option to choose what they want. Built by Blank designed and developed the e-gift card page based on the brand’s aesthetic, and added the option to select from a range of gift card amounts.

Wishlist

This is considered a very important feature for apparel brands, so we designed and developed a Wishlist icon and page for Ten Past Monkey. This allows users to save their favorite items and easily add them to the cart from the Wishlist page once they decide what they think is best.

Custom-built Product Pages

The Built team created product pages specially designed with the brand’s aesthetic in mind. The pages were custom-built modifications of Shopify product pages.

Swatches Ability

In addition, we added color swatches to the product pages on the website. The swatches ability allowed users to identify available color choices and choose one according to their taste. It created an intuitive way to switch between colors awhile choosing your favorite for a product.

Excelify Uploads

Our team automated the products and variants upload process for Ten Past Monkey. We formatted CSVs with product details including images, SKUs, and inventory across variants, and uploaded them into the Shopify store through Excelify.

Newsletter

Also, we added the option to subscribe to the company newsletter. The newsletter popup and section keeps customers up-to-date with the latest trends on Ten Past Monkey.
