The need for WordPress to Shopify Migration
Pampa is a premium home-wares brand based in the beach-side town of Byron Bay, Australia. Established in 2013, Pampa has been selling traditional Argentinian rug designs in Australia and around the world. Gradually, their range has expanded to a wide array of sustainable products handmade by skilled Argentinian artisans. Due to the growth of their business, Pampa felt the need for WordPress to Shopify migration which would allow for a more flexible eCommerce store.
Pampa wanted to expand its reach to cater to the demands of the global market. So they hired Built By Blank to develop their new online store on Shopify. Their goal was to rebuild the whole e-commerce experience, which was previously built on WordPress using Woocommerce.
Selecting the Platform. Why choose WordPress to Shopify Migration?
We looked at eCommerce platforms in the market and found that Shopify had an edge over other platforms like Magento, Woocommerce, etc. This was because of its high compatibility and built in features. For example, Shopify has tools that help enhance SEO rankings, help generate discount codes, etc. We decided to use the Advanced Shopify Plan which includes features like the advanced report builder, third party calculated shipping rates and 0.5 % transaction fees.
Key Pain Points – WordPress to Shopify Migration
The eCommerce website was rebuilt to increase sales and to engage with the global market. In order to do that, the following functionalities were implemented to achieve this target :
Multi Currency
A global website needs to display prices in local currencies. However, this feature was not on the old Pampa site. Therefore, we resolved this problem with the implementation of the multi currency feature. This feature lets the user choose their preferred currency and shows the product prices in that currency. Prices are calculated based on real time exchange rates with the help of the Shopify eCommerce platform.
Shipping Calculator
In an international business, accurately calculating shipping costs is critical. Therefore, we implemented a shipping calculator that uses the product volume and the delivery location to correctly calculate the shipping costs for every transaction.
Warehouse Integration for Inventory
To maximise sales, all inventory present in the warehouse must be visible on the online store. So we integrated warehouse inventory with the website inventory for accurate tracking and better inventory management.
Chat Functionality
For Online retail, Live chat is the preferred method of dealing with customer support. It is easy to use, involves lesser wait time than phone calls and is easier to implement for businesses as well. So, we integrated chat functionality on the Pampa store for easy resolution of customer support issues.
AfterPay Integration
We enabled AfterPay integration to allow users to make purchases in instalments. Consequently, making it easy for them to buy high-priced items on the store, increasing Pampa’s sales numbers.
Trade Application Form
We created a customised Trade Application Form to allow retailers to partner with Pampa. This helps Pampa expand their business into brick and mortar stores around the world.
Discount Price Functionality
We created a compare at price functionality to allow users to compare the old and new prices of an item. As a result, users can now make an informed purchase decision.
Blog functionality
Built By Blank created a custom blog for Pampa with filters, keywords etc. Due to this, the Pampa content team can better engage and captivate buyers through content marketing.
Built By Blank understood all the problems faced by Pampa on their previous website and worked with the Pampa team to resolve them. Pampa’s WordPress to Shopify migration created a seamless and user friendly experience for Pampa customers. Thanks to the hard work and support from Built By Blank, Pampa’s position in the market has improved drastically with a substantial increase in sales and traffic on their website.
